Pride in Place is a UK Government funding programme for towns and neighbourhoods that need long-term investment.

Hamilton Town Centre will receive up to £20 million from the programme, with the funding used over 10 years to support local improvements and help improve the centre.

Everyone who uses the town centre – who either lives, works, visits or spends time there – is being invited to take part in the survey.

The survey is available online and a series of workshops and focus groups will take place from the week beginning Monday 21 September and run for three weeks. You can register your interest in these workshops and focus groups by email.

Independent Chair of the Hamilton Town Centre Board, Ronnie Smith, said: “The Pride in Place Programme is community-led – local people will decide how the money is spent.

“That’s why it is imperative that as many people as possible take part in the survey.

“The investment is targeted at Hamilton town centre in order to uplift the area for all of the residents in the surrounding communities - a stronger centre benefits the whole town.

“Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and let us know your views.”

The Hamilton Town Centre Board was set up in June 2026.

The board will help guide the Pride in Place programme in Hamilton. Its role is to listen to local views, agree priorities and develop a long-term plan for investment in the town centre.
